I bought a Kindle a few months ago and have been getting back into reading. I had slacked off on my reading the past few years, primarily because my eyes have been getting weaker when it comes to seeing things up close. I HATE having to scramble for reading glasses, so when I found out about Kindle and the fact that I could enlarge the print and see more easily, well, I bought one and have been reading a lot these days!!
![]() My mother recommended a book that's been on the international Best Seller's list in Europe. It's called "Hanna's Daughters" and is written by Marianne Fredricksson. Generally, it's about the volatile ties that bind the relationship between mothers and daughters. I'm just getting into it, but so far, it's a real page-turner and I don't want to put it down!! ![]() ~Theo~ ![]()

If you enjoy mysteries, you might want to check out Jon Loomis' series, which is set in Provincetown. I just finished High Season, and have started on Mating Season. Detective Coffin is trying to quit smoking and his lesbian partner, Lola Winters is a Butch who saved his life, in High Season. Most of the characters are quirky, and Provincetown is portrayed as a diverse, funky, and interesting place. Loomis scored extra points with me, because of his awareness of transgender issues. I'm looking forward to reading all of his books.

Social Animal. David Brooks. Yes, he is a Republican.... but I am open minded- also interested in his analysis of social connectedness and trust.

Almost done with Rainbow's End by Martha Grimes. A very slow mystery that I picked up once before, put down, then finally went back to and finished. Last month I finished a book called Into the Blue by Robert Goddard that I could not put down. I zoomed through it. I love books like that and hate it when I get to the end.
