Light a candle today for my father (and my family) ...

16 years ago today he lost his best friend, high school sweetheart, true love, soulmate ... Our mom ... At 40 to cancer.

Too this day if he talks about it or thinks too hard about it, still brings tears to his eyes ... How beautiful to love someone so completely, but how very painful at the same time.

I have been asked by my new meditation group to send a request to love and light to a wonderful woman who is facing dialysis. She diabetic and also has a detoriating liver due to years of meds. She is wanting to fight for life and I honor her choice.

I thought there was more time before symptoms began again. She responded so well to the chemo. I light a candle today for my sister, Dolo, who had a seizure on Sunday, and probably wouldn't have told me except for my questioning why she has an appointment with a neurologist. There was something additional found on her brain, and a PET scan is pending. She starts radiation treatment on Monday.

I thought I was ready and prepared for this, but truly, I'm not. So, if you have anything left over, a prayer, some light for me, too. I need to buck up for her kids. Especially my oldest niece. A candle for them and her husband, too.
