true..
it is very annoying. Unless I give my birth name, I squeeze by and recieve a gentleman's pricing... This last time, I did muse about the price difference and the "why", while watching a gentleman give the Stylist more directions than a fuckin' GPS on the Jersey turnpike. I finished before he did... He kept interrupting "No, not that one..I want #3, I always get #3 on that part/Try to make the nape into 'Duck tail'" And the stylist was pissed with him, sending My stylist "s.o.s" glances... I say stylist cuz there's maybe ...2 decent barbers in my town, and both were closed that day {figures}, sooo I was stuck... By the time I got my wallet out, My stylist was dealing with his ass..and I got a discount +compliment {that's a lovely color of red * me = bashful smile, staying quiet*}... I much prefer barbers, good price, colorful jokes, nice porn magazines {i'll never understand that part...youre reading porn while waiting for a haircut, whatre ya gonna do? say "excuse me, where's the bathroom"??} Eventually I'll find a certified Barber school, maybe open my own gender neutral place... As for dry cleanin.....I have a black "hot topic" long coat that needs it, I'm petrified of the prices ["be afraid...be very very afraid"~ geena davis *the fly*]

I think it really depends on where you go. If you go to a place like first choice haircuts it just depends on what you want done. Standard price for adults is something like 14 bucks, then depends if you want them to wash it and dry it.

Personally, if the stylist I use does a great job, and I continue to use her, I don't bitch about the pricing and I usually leave a 5 dollar tip so they can buy lunch. Stylists really don't make that much money, and they risk their wrists in what they do to having carpal tunnel syndrome. I have an ex that was a stylist whom no longer does it because of her wrists. She didn't bring in the dough either like a lot of people would think, and she was great at it too.
So, to me the pricing I don't care about as long as the cut you get is worth it.
