You Just Won $30 MILLION!! What are you going to do?

I know exactly what I'd do...

I would set up a trust for my son, and both my nieces.

I'd set up a foundation that would award grants to cover all the costs of trans surgeries and related expenses. To this end, I would consult an excellent financial advisor to allow the trust to be self-sustaining with prudent investment. (I even have the name of the foundation picked out...had it for years...just not the money to make it happen!)

And then...because I'd still have some F-you money left over

, I'd set up the little bookstore I've seen in my dreams (because I don't think I could NOT work), and it wouldn't matter if it made a profit or not (see the F-you money reference above). In addition to my small business, I would probably also become a "professional" student....just taking classes with no major in sight....about everything I've ever wanted to learn.

pay the taxes...there goes half
pay off my mortgages (both of them) and all debts
fully fund both boys' college funds
send my dearest friend Annie to Hawaii for that reunion with her sisters
set up a trust at both of my alma maters, to provide scholarship money to women without the means to go (college changed my life for the better twice...I'd like to pass that along)
schedule that vacation to Puerto Rico
listen in while Scoote tells her boss to shove it
get that convertible Camaro
make some significant donations to St. Joe's Hospital (where my son was born, saved my mother's life, and did a needed surgery on my sister without payment)
donate to organizations doing research on cancer, diabetes and heart disease
donate to the Boys & Girls Club
and invest enough so we never have to work again

No family or close friends.. don't like to travel or party.. so I'd give 98% to charities.

The first two things I thought of were....

1. Make a sandwich
2. Once I have all the money, swim in it like Grandpa Duck, Ducktales style

I'd give some to my sister and her husband who have 2 kids
then I would get a house and pay off my car and go back to school!
and give to charities.

and buy a new laptop because mine burns my legs!
