As someone who wanted to be a linguist I'm well aware of all of the horrible origins in many of the phrases we use every day.
Medusa I get where you're going with this thread but I don't necessarily think of these things as flippant. Often times it's quite calculated. But we would all do well to educate ourselves on the words we use online and in person. |
