Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I'd like to think that your gran will be there to take care of Malcolm and he her.
I wish many blessings on you and your friend's family, so that his daughter will grow up with the knowledge of how wonderful her dad was, how much she was/is loved, and who he was through her mom and you and other friends and relatives. My condolences to you all.
