A- achievement. I have hit every career goal I set for myself
B- bad ass. I the greatest stories to tell my grandchildren. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna call me a granny bad ass.
C - challenged. I have a medical résumé that reads like a rap sheet. it’s Long. I have a lot of challenges to my life more importantly, to every day. But I need that challenge. It’s rare when I’m knocked off in my feet for long.
D - damaged. Who isn’t? I have a lot of broken pieces in my psyche and my past. But I work hard, identifying them, accepting them, and fixing them, or at least learning how to live successfully with them.
E - Enough. I am enough. I know my worth.
F - fat. Oh my God yes I did say that! Lol. My weight has gone up and down over the years and I used to value myself accordingly. I also expected anyone I was with was doing the same. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can’t speak for myself. This ties in E. I am enough regardless of what my weight is.
G - gracious. Some people say, you have to forgive others for the wrongs that they have done to you. I think that puts more value on the other person. If I can find it in myself to deal with an asshole, I call it giving them grace.
H - happy. Truly soul warming happy.
I - ignorant. And I don’t mean in the stupid way. I led a very sheltered life as a child, and therefore didn’t learn a lot about the ways of the world or people, and sometimes that ignorance shows up even at the age of 67
J - joyful. See H.
K - kite-ish. Sometimes I just wanna fly but I know I need something that grounds me.
L - I love well.
M - my anxiety gets the best of me and sometimes I can get a little manicky. You don’t wanna be around me when I’m under a lot of stress. I’m not talking about normal every day stress or crisis. I’m talking about unrelenting long-term stress. I’m just not built for that.
N - my normal has shifted over the years but I like the normal I am now.
O- Opinionated, but open for discovering new information
P - I hate being patient, but I do it with fortitude
Q - quick. I make decisions as quick as I can. Some people have a problem making decisions. I do not. I trust my judge.
R - Romantic. I am romantic and I love to be romanced
S - softness, intimacy, closeness
T - For a while there I had a problem being able to trust. I’ve overcome that. More importantly, I’ve also worked on being trusted
U - umbrella. I often can be the shelter from the storm
V - Vicarious. When one can’t, one must learn how to deal. I can no longer have horses in my life so I live vicariously through my friend who do.
W - wicked bad faults of mine. I have them. But here’s not where I confess them. That’s for the fourth step.
X - x marks the spot. I’m right here. Right on X. I am present in my own life.
Y - (Youngstown)! That’s where I’m from
Z - zoo. I worked in the zoo. I have some of the most remarkable memories. My favorite memories are that I would come home every day from the zoo and share the stories of all the animals with my dying father.
