![]() The Death Feast
They are circling above me. I want to turn over… Protect my face, my eyes. I am too weak to reach out, To weak to lift a limb. Face up to watch each one Waiting for their death feast above. Ravenous for my bare flesh…. Will I watch my eye plucked? Will they wait till I can’t feel? Or will my guts torn open Feel like warm rags lifted Dragging across my cooling skin? So I chase death faster Give up my will to live Focused on the turkey buzzards what I’ll see when they dive… The torture if I’m still alive. Holding my breath and then Straining wide open my wounds…. The blood flowing faster Faster to death’s Peace. The bliss of leaving this body Overtakes all I had to live for. My surrender of struggling Clawing my way towards mental death A race I MUST WIN… To avoid the Agony. But looking up again I see… each of them diving towards me. I think I'm out of time. Goodbye. D.L. 2009
