Light a candle

A thousand candles for my Mom, Dad, sister Jeanne and brother John. I miss you all so much. And for Silly Putty, who gave me the brightest light of all. I will always miss you.

Easter was a time of love, family and closeness for me. Those times are past, yet the memories remain. One really does not know what they have until it is gone.

As many candles I light for all of the members in the thread that are dealing with difficulty and have loved ones that are ill, or they have lost.

I don't have a Christian celebration of Easter any longer, but I feel rebirth continually all around me in multiple forms. That- I most certainly celebrate!

A time to remember........This was special time of celebration for my Mom and I, and that side of the family. Of course, being an only child every holiday's were always special. She always managed to surprise me, and to laugh.

To my Mom, who taught me about love and life, and the Golden Rule, and all about women when I was just a teen.She would put milk chocolate and white chocolate race cars, and guns and tools in my Easter basket.

My candles are burning bright, and Rosie got me more incense today. So that was burning today too. My thoughts and prayers are for everyone here, animals/pets, nature, the people of Japan & Haiti who are still recovering, the sick, the poor, and the needy.

I light this candle on the eve of the Easter holiday... so that we may find what that "holiday" means to us. I light it for those that are still finding themselves in the throes of darkness.. with no clear end in sight. I light it because with in us we all carry a flame that burns with the warmth of hope and of better days. Know that you are never alone. That we are here, whether you can see us or not.. open your hearts.. because you will then truly feel us... and in those times when you feel most alone.. .you will know that you truly are not.

i burn incense for A/all who have lost beloveds, be they family, friend, human, or animal
i burn incense for all who suffer, thinking esp. of those in the states ravaged by ill weather and those in countries ravaged by damage caused by natural causes and by war
i burn incense for all who walk in darkness
may they know that all are connected and that someone somewhere cares
i burn incense to soothe hearts and souls that need comfort for whatever reason
may its fragrance and light illumine them and give hope
