Viagra and FTMs- ANyone have any experience?

Viagra is neither approved or recommended for use in women. Therefore, women should not take Viagra under any circumstances. Clinical trials as an antidepressant that may or may not be taken safely by women are not concluded at this time. So, this could be just another abuse of a prescription drug. Do we need more of this? Increased blood flow medications are not for use in recreation- sex or otherwise.

There have been quite a few incidences of death of teenagers (all males)due to viagra- many have been "pranks" by other teens. Strokes and heart attacks also have occurred.

Although, low doses of the drug are prescribed for teen males with ED (a very rare condition).

I have a concern about this thread topic area ending up getting the website in some legal trouble via those creepy "crawler" thingies... but, I am a worrier by nature.

Actually, the study was for women who are taking SSRI's and have lost their sex drive due to the antidepressants. Here is a excerpt from the write up in Journal of the American Medical Assn:

"In a new study, researchers studied the effects of Viagra and a placebo in 98 women, average age of 37, who were using antidepressants for major depression. All the women also reported sexual side effects like lack of arousal or difficulty achieving orgasm. For eight weeks, the women took either Viagra or a placebo pill one to two hours before having sex.

The study, which was funded by Viagra-maker Pfizer, showed that 72 percent of women taking Viagra reported improvement, compared to 27 percent of those taking the placebo. The Viagra users reported significant improvements in their ability to achieve orgasm and enjoyment and showed greater improvement in overall sexual function based on an established rating scale"

I can truly appreciate concern for those who may want to go out and try this without consulting with their doctor. However, I think that this is the place to bring things up so people can discuss that which on their minds and be able to learn from other peoples ideas, thought and experiences.

Just for the record, I found some interesting reading when I was studying for grad school and thought I would share and get others input. Kind of like sex education, if we teach our kids about sex, they are less likely to go out and get into trouble. At least with talking about it, some may get education from it. By no means was this post meant to encourage non prescribed medicine usage.


I am not sure about internet law, but I am fairly certain that discussion of anything is allowable so long as it is not a plot to over throw the government.
