Sneakers? LOL I'm so sorry! I actually thought it was some new name for undies! I have heard the word "knickers" used for undies, so I thought maybe that's what it was. Well obviously you like those sneakers, or you wouldn;t have bought two of the same (two pairs, I mean.

I don't think, that is I definitely wouldn't' leave a candy bar let alone two of them in my closet... Besides, I don't use scholar words, I'm not the encyclopedia type, book smart is not my forte, Im just a street smart child with dyslexia...

I threw away about 12 candy canes that were sitting in a glass container on the kitchen counter. I thought I would save them for cookies or something, but who am I kidding? Into the trash bin they went.

Default One less thing...

... Whew. Closet is cleaned out. *checking off the list*

three trash bags FULL of clothes that need to go since I got rid of 71lbs!

Rather than the hassle of queerbay, the bags are headed to a local church clothing store. All pieces are resold at $1 so its affordable for everyone.

I am looking out the window to Jess's workshop. Hy has almost a truckload of Momma's Christmas crap... many trees she bought at thrift shops - all missing vital pieces. Why she wont part with them is the 8th Wonder of the World...

Boxes upon boxes of tinsel and icicles (ick)

I think while Hy is outside I might consider purging some of the yarns. Briefly purging my extensive (think entire room) shoe collection. Then I found my brain and decided I had temporary insanity!

The yarn will more than make Hym happy and one can only imagine the points I score by self initiating! *cha-ching*

off to the yarn bins!

YAY! The girl rocked it with her "organizing"! I got a good dent knocked out in one of the buildings, but have a long way to go in getting it to a usable work space. Sighs.. slowly but surely, we'll get there.

Good luck to everyone "downsizing"! It does make a world of difference in the peace of mind factor!

Today I got rid of 8 hours of my free time plus some much needed sleep.

*yawn*

In two weeks, however, I will have added 8 hours of OT to my check.

Today I am cleaning out my *Good Clothes* closet..

I've been saving them because:

1. They are expensive and in the classic style..
2. An ex bought them for me
3. In case I ever worked in an office where professional dress was required.

I'm letting them go.. (Well, except the hand made, one of a kind sloutch jacket.. That's just art work..)

I haven't worn almost any of it in five years... They don't fit my body or my soul any more..

*baby steps for letting go of the past*

Default A different generation...

W/we just got back from visiting my parents and spending the best part of a day trying to clear up what is supposed to be my mother's utility room but what has become yet another of my father's dumping grounds. I feel so sorry for my Mom. My brother built her that room so she would have a space of her own, a place where she could store things, use her sewing machine, plant seeds etc. yet, until today, she could hardly get in it, let alone use it.

Anyway, to cut a long story short...W/we put things aside - useless things, things my father will never ever need or use - so he could approve O/our getting rid of them. Result? A huge dent in the mess. Until, that is, he got around to actually looking over what W/we planned on chucking and decided it needed to all go back so he could 'think about it' later. So okay, his family were poor, so okay, he lived through the war and rationing and all that that entailed, but come on, FOUR sets of golf clubs (he can't play any more). Two sets of bowls (he's never played). A badminton racket? Used, what, once, about 40 years ago? *Sigh* I can't begin to tell you how depressed I feel right now at the thought of my mother, at almost 80, and after spending her entire life working so hard, not being able to enjoy the fruits of her labour because of my father's reluctance to let go of crap.

It's just ****ing unfair, you know?
