Recently viewed: Burlesque; cute/sweet movie, it def gave me a different view of Aguilera, she has a lot more talent than I had thought previously.
The Rite: Anthony Hopkins is of course, amazing... good flick, kinda creepy. Insidious: best "scare" flick I have seen in a while. Actually "jumped" at a couple shots! Adjustment Bureau: Good story and interesting in that kind of "Inception" sort of how things are affected. Very modern day forbidden love story. Sucker Punch: If you're into the CGI style fantasy/graphic novel, it was awesome. Great soundtrack and tons of action, albeit a bit hard to follow the internal story line, the visuals and action did keep me engaged. ( or maybe it was my inner 17 year old boy) whichevah... I dug it. LOL. |

Sunday night i saw "Gigola" at the Qfest queer film festival. I love foreign films and this one didn't disappoint. This is a French film about a young butch in 1960s Paris. When the credits started to roll I immediately felt the need to talk about it. Personally, I felt there was a lot to process. Some of the most powerful bits are left open to the interpretation of the audience, and the conversation afterward was amazing.

I just rented and watched The Lincoln Lawyer. I am not a huge Matthew McConaughey fan. The premise of the movie is that he plays a sleazy lawyer who has a crisis of conscience when finding himself representing a rich kid who is guilty as sin. Now the guilty as sin does not bother him.. (because he takes payoffs all the time to represent the guilty and get them off) however, he finds out this rich kid killed a woman he put another man in prison for years ago. The movie also stars Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe, and William H. Macy.
I would not buy it to add to My collection. In the end I was glad I only paid a dollar for it through the RedBox rental machine. Oh and the Lincoln part of the title.. he has a driver that takes him around in an old black Lincoln and that is his mobile office... right down to the back seat being littered with a ton of paperwork. |

Harry Potter, I was coerced as it's not my thing, I wasn't bored at all although it was slightly long (but worth it because next time she has to accompany me to see "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" haha
