Good Morning Everyone,

I talked to a friend yesterday who is a nutritionist and I told him that I am trying to cut back on how much sugar I consume. He told me about adding honey to plain Greek yogurt instead of buying the pre-sweetened version. I am having a 6oz bowl of plain Greek yogurt with one teaspoon of honey and it tastes better than the other stuff. I am also having an 8oz glass of Chocolate soymilk and a cup of coffee.

I picked up a box of Nature Valley Granola Bars to have for a snack and they were on sale at Publix for a $1.99. Fiber Choice makes a weight management fiber supplement and I bought those to!

Have a great day!

Zimmy

I add Honey and Cinnamon. I Love it! I also add fresh mango or another kind of fresh fruit to bulk it up, and it usually is a 2 point snack (4oz of fage, 1 pt, 10 grams honey, 1 pt)

Default Good morning healthies

Sitting in Panera bread this morning.

First got a large non-fat cap with 2 extra shots and 3 Splenda, walked across parking lot to Panera.

Ordered an eggwhite omelet-not really an omelet-no cheese and one slice thin black forest ham. It was on whole grain bread, no butter but decided against the bread.

Truly back in the groove with my eating now. Feel free of cravings. It is such a relief to again believe I have the power over what I chose to eat.

I am one person that you can never, ever say to: "Oh, go on, one bite won't hurt you". One bite of a trigger food for me is a slippery slope.

I chose to, for today; to just say no.

i'm noticing a lot of changes with my body as well as my thinking -
the best change is my increase in energy, it's amazing what a 40 lb loss feels like, and encourages me to want to feel more weight loss.. i feel healthier than i ever have, but of course that comes with a lot of hurdle jumping these days ..

but, so much more self motivation these days..
This week, i am hoping to try Zumba for the first time at my gym.
and will be making some changes to my exercise routine..

i'm doing well, and feeling excited for my next weigh in.. i'm thinking Wednesday will be a good day for weigh in & measurements.

LOVE reading all of your progress everyone - i learn so much in this thread...
and get so motivated, thank you all ((((huggggggz))))

Good Morning Everyone,

I am having the honey and plain Greek yogurt for breakfast with a 8oz cup of soymilk and a cup of coffee for breakfast. The honey and plain Greek yogurt is pretty good and isn't as sweet.

Have a great day and has anyone seen Rockin lately?

I enjoyed the honey when I tried it.

I ate a bowl of oatmeal very early this morning......one of the Quaker Oats Weight Control ones. Had that and some orange juice. And coffee, of course!

The weight management Fiber Choice supplements that I picked up on Saturday, are doing a great job of controlling my hunger. Which is great for me since I like to snack between meals. I bought a bottle of Sue Bee Clover Honey and I add about half of a teaspoon of it to my Greek yogurt.

I love oatmeal on the weekends.

Have fun today,

Zimmy

down .6 at WW weigh in. Would be fine but there was no weigh in last monday for labor day, and the week before was out due to the hurricane. Oh well, right direction anyway, but shows without the accountability of a public weigh in, I slack!

so lunch can of progresso soup (2 pts for the whole can), and a couple hard boiled eggs.

got to step it up!

Still going strong with my daily cardio. I have done 7 consecutive days and 10 out of 11.

Yesterday I changed it up a little. The missus and I did 97 minutes on streets, trails, and railroad tracks. Lots of inclines. We did some jogging but mostly walking, and I hurt more last night after all of that than I did after any of my "mostly jogging" adventures. I found that interesting.

This week I'm going to attempt more of the same and keep my heart rate in the 70% neighborhood and see if that makes any difference. I'm wondering if the jogging isn't keeping my heart rate up too high and out of the "fat burning" range. ???

I'm also going to see how it goes for me to cut off my eating at 4:30. I was intentionally eating later there for a while, primarily because of the weight training. Since I'm not on weights right now, I thought I'd give this a try and see how it goes.

Hi all,

This and the “eat everything not nailed down” syndrome is something that I have struggled with a lot. Just plain eating too much.

I also tried not eating in the evening, or not after 6pm or some other kind of number I would think would help. I know there is a lot of anecdotal evidence out there suggesting that this will help with weight loss. It simply did not work for me in real life.

I was hungry damnit!

No matter what I do, once I start eating for the day, it’s like opening a valve and I’m hungry about every 3-4 hours until I go to bed. I really don’t do well with that. So, in the spirit of finding what would actually work for me, I did the opposite. Have dinner at 8, and go to bed around 11 before I get seriously hungry again.

A while back I posted about eating fewer meals per day (and have no idea how to link to it; it was on 8/13); so how does this work? I commit the cardinal sin of not eating breakfast per se.

I do actually “break the fast” everyday, I just do it later in the day: say around lunch time . This accomplishes a couple of things for me. All of my blood sugar gyration, hunger pang producing type of activities happen when I am asleep; after that later dinner. When I wake up it is all over with, leveled out, and I don’t get truly hungry until later in the day. This is of course after the habit portion of “must eat in the morning” has been broken. Also a high quality of food when eating is assumed.

So this creates for me what I think of as a window of eating opportunity, usually about 12-2pm until 7-8pm. This way I have the ability to eat two hearty satisfying meals and a good snack at about 3 1/2 hr intervals. It also allows my digestive system to catch a break from aways focusing on dealing with whatever I just put in there and divert attention towards other restorative processes.

At least that’s how it seems to work for me. I’ve been doing this for the last 6 months straight and have not had any problems with energy or sleep patterns; and yes, that means on days when the tide sends me out in the morning I walk 10 miles in the sand before eating. I seem to have plenty of gas in tank from my evening meal, it’s just a non-issue, go figure. Everyone is different, but if something doesn’t work, maybe stand it on its head to see what will.

Thinker makes me think, so I found an interesting article about evening eating. It is here.

There are also some related links in the references at the end of the article.

I just figured out on the calorie burn index that my curent weight and calorie intake and burn it will take me 8 months and 5 days to lose the rest of the weight I want to lose.Dam that a long time, then it said at my hights and weight I should weigh not more than 165...im not even thinking of doing that my goal is 200 pounds so if I lose anymore that that good,if not is good to.
Over the weekend I went to the dragon boat races on the red river,I ate a fue things I shouldnt have but not a lot as I did keep it as close to my food plan as possable,I figure my morning test would be way outta wack but I was surprised it was 95..I took it within 10 minits of getting up.When im on the food plan it test anywhere from 85 to 111 mostly about 104 or 5...crazy makes no sence to me.
