I do know that she was here in KC playing soccer last Saturday and Maks was here also so they could practice when she wasn't playing. Our local tv did an interview with her and she even said it herself: "I am not feminine at all and I have never walked in a pair of heels, let alone danced in them." So I don't consider people saying that she is not feminine all that offensive to her..lol It was cute; she was laughing about it and making light of the whole thing.

She also laughed when speaking about the wardrobe selections they have for her and how much skin she is showing. She said that her mom sure is happy about the dresses and stuff. She said her team mates were razzin' her about it too and that she refuses to dance in front of them or let them see her practicing in her heels.

All tomboy....pro athlete...I hope she does well!! My favorite thing about her is that smile!!

Oh, I see your points about the feminine thing and how she feels! I am not actually offended by it. I took a lot of crap as a female athlete and I was thinking more about how I felt long ago about being in her shoes. I did not come-out at a young age and was quite actively heterosexual for many years and a big time tomboy. Getting me in a pair of heels was really hard to do. I always felt so awkward with stuff like this. Of course, as time went on.......

I was thinking a lot about the same kind of mentality I keep seeing on blogs and comment areas on the DWTS FB page about not only Chaz, but women athletes- all of the heteronormative value bull. And sizeism galore.

I really appreciate all of these folks getting out there and doing this. I also hope that this leads to more and awareness among the poplation outside of ours about trans and gay, etc. issues. Some parents have all these complaints about the show making their kids ask them about transgenderism, for example and it is pissing them off. I'm thinking- good, they need to be asking questions and learning about all of the different kinds of people in the world. Even if they get bigoted answers- a seed is planted of awareness and they will grow up and may go off to college and get some positive information. Maybe they are asking question due to being trans themselves and have never had a name for what they are feeling- now they do!!

Anyway- it is great to see such a diverse group of contenders.

WOW- I would love to see her play in person!!

More on Hope.....it's no secret, I femme crush her body!

They (some news media group) showed the team goofing around and the ladies all broke out into some *girl bonding dancing and stuff* but Hope was just laughing and being silly. No dancing. They (the news crew) asked the dancing team members if Hope danced and almost in unisome they all yelled NO! Apparently she is a little on the serious side too. I heard (?) or read maybe Max requested her.....I'm anxious to see how far he can coach her. I liked what I saw on her first dance. I thought it was a great first dance from everyone (except Kardashian)

I guess next week a lot of folks will be doing the quickstep. This is just a personal preference, but I'm not a big fan of the quickstep. I've only seen ONE quickstep dance I ever liked and it was on "So you Think You Can Dance" this season. Nick and Iveta danced it.

For a person that can't dance a lick I sure do like to watch others do it.

I think Chaz did great and I loved all the support he received from other cast member when he was voted safe to move onto the next round.
