I so wish y'all were here at the bash.

I enjoy rose quartz for sure. I haven't intentionally made this sort of vortex but as I've aquired more and more little stones and roots and herbs and candles and oils and plants etc etc it does seem to affect the energy. I might need reminding after the weekend but I have lots of ideas.

For now though I just thought I'd mention there's a gem show in Austin next weekend so if y'all wanna find some good stuff at reasonable prices, (prices vary booth to booth - magpie gems was very reasonably priced and as staffed by a very cute mohawked baby-butch who I'm sure would love to see y'all's cute selves at her booth. Also she was honest (she was at the Temple show last week) when I asked her about whether certain stones might have been dyed.

Anyway here's the info on the show and I'll try to remember to come back on here once back in Texas.

Austin Gem and Mineral Show "Gem Capers" ~ Austin, Texas
Oct 21-23, Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 10am-5pm.
Palmer Events Center
900 Barton Springs Road
Austin, TX 78704

i'm always making grids, layouts, medicine wheels, etc. as i feel led. Moving them to my crystal room will help keep my curious little kitty from making her own "adjustments" to them....though there have been a few times when her change actually improved the layout.

The Austin show sounds amazing! i would love to be able to go to something like this...but again, my wallet would require a chaperone...LOL

Couple of clarifications upon review of my earlier posts...

my smoky quartz is an elestial not a cathedral (brain hiccup)

The mine owned by the family of my ex's ex was Mason's Ruby Mine...i've got several rather large rubies, garnets and sapphires from there. Since i live in NC i am rather partial to native specimens.

Does anyone also work with sacred soil/sand? i especially treasure the soil given to me from Canyon de Chelly along with soil and rocks from the Grand Canyon...

I do work with soil and sand. I gather soil from cemetaries that I go to, and, use it when I am working in haunted buildings. I have also used the soil in rituals that require working with the earth. Such as having a pot of soil in the centre of the altar to call in the earth energies. For some rituals, I bury objects in my pot of soil to represent hiden or buried aspects of spirit or self.

The sand I use for water rituals and in some of my ceremonies. I use sand more often for ceremonies than rituals. I also use sand in my entry way. My grandmother taught me that it had the property of water and could therefore clean anything out of the "air" so to speak. Like washing the feet of your guests.

i haven't tried working with cemetery soil and not certain i want to. Whenever i visit most cemeteries i am bombarded by souls seeking acknowledgment....mausoleums are the worst for me...

It never occurred to me to put sand across my doorways...i have salt there now and on my windowsills.

Hi Trey, Thanks for asking...

Some of the techniques I use are similar. I am first generation Canadian, my family moved from the Netherlands, but we trace our lineage to the Saami peoples. Most of what I practice is Northern European and Saami. As one can only expect, there are similarities in most practices and traditions. You would think there was a collective unconscioius or something silly like that!!
