![]() Band of Brothers It's an old miniseries and I am not much of a war movie fan but I watch this every year and always find something new in it. Good stuff. Good cast. |

Last movie was last night saw "Beneath the dark" It was okay, took forever to get to the point of the film but once it got to the plot it wasn't too bad.

I just saw Super 8 and absolutely loved it!! It was written and directed by JJ Abrams (Directed Star Trek-the newer one with Chris Pine and Fringe on Fox-another favorite tv show of mine).
It is SciFi with a heart, PG-13, focused on a group of 11-12 year old boys, one girl (with guts and spunky) and how they're trying to make a movie to enter into a competition. It is set in the 1970's, hence using a Super 8 camera, instead of anything digital. While doing so, they stumble upon a real SciFi mystery. It has great special effects, is funny & charming. I did shed a few tears @ the end-heartwarming and all that ![]() Recommend it!

A Letter to Brezhnev – I first saw this film in 1985 with my then girlfriend and my Maori Grandmother. It’s set in Liverpool and at first I found the accent hard to understand – I understand the accent a little better now, lol! It’s a kitchen sink drama/love story that, although has dated not very well, is still enjoyable, if you like that sort of thing.
How things have changed for Russia and the UK since this was made and how much I’ve changed over the years – my feelings are toward the characters are different now to what they were when I was 15. ![]()
