Love it!

My parents are/were all about the bench seat. We were a Honda family, but they had to change to Ford Tauruses and then Buick as they got older b/c the bucket seats hurt their back! My Dad says that the cars don't last as long (I am proud to be a part of a "drive 'em til they die" family), but at least they are comfortable!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Congrats!

My car is in the shop getting mods right at this moment. I will definitely post up pics with information in the next week or so after I get the car back (new coilovers are coming from the opposite coast, so it is taking a while). I am so pumped!

As an aside, your engine bay could be a bit cleaner, don't you think?

The first car I ever bought was a brand spanky new drive off the showroom floor 1972 blue Toyota Celica ST. I bought it at the Toyota dealership in Clarksville, TN when I was stationed at Ft Campbell, KY. It cost me about $3000.00 bucks.

I don't have a pic of that car, but I did find this picture which is really close to what mine looked like.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/carphot...rd/4813183828/

The sad part is I totaled it less than a year after I bought it......a drunk asshat ran a red light (on post) and T-boned me....I walked away but the car didn't. I went out and bought another one exactly like it except the color was a darker blue..............

ps.......how the hell do you get the pics to show in the post?

Toughy, that car is really, really great. How long did you have the darker blue one?

Can someone else answer Toughy's question? I don't know how to do it, I was actually just going to get my partner to do it for me!

I still to this day think that was my all time favorite car. I had the second one until 1976.

I traded it for a 1970 Chevy El Camino. I don't remember why I decided I wanted an El Camino, much less a used one, but that's what I did. It did have the side rails on it. I'm thinking it was because I had acquired a wife, a dog and a house. I guess I needed the appropriate vehicle so we could go camping and do all that stuff you need to do to have the American dream. It certainly was not a muscle car or a hot rod car for sure or a car to attract the girls....<grin>

Today..........laughin.................I drive a lesbianna car...1998 Subaru Forester....I got it after my 1998 green Ford Mustang got T-boned and totaled (I walked away from that wreck also). I don't have much luck with hot cars....

so back to y'all and the heavy metal cars......and I also thought this thread was about music when I first read the title....laughin....

I sent this via rep statement but I'll post here cause someone else prolly wants to know.

the way *I* do it - is I host my pictures on Photobucket. You can get a free account and just upload your pics there. Once you upload - if you mouse over a pic it gives you several options for C&P below the picture. Click on the one that says "IMG Code" (the box to the right) - when you click on it the box should change to read "copied" - then just flip back over here and paste the code in.

Do a preview first to verify and voila!

1985 Ford F150 Stepside 4x4...My relationship with this truck was like that of certain Femmes' with their favorite high heels: I gladly endured the lousy ride quality, lack of air conditioning and inevitable mechanical quirks of a 25 yr old truck because driving it made me feel damned sexy- especially from behind!

Yes, you do have the official "lesbian" car! I know I sort of considered getting one at some point. I wanted to be part of the club!

That and I really have no interest in doing a quarter mile at the tracks - and a lot of them race their cars... Mine's a Daily Driver... almost 5 years old and over 130k miles on it.

Oh and pollen season starts here in Georgia around the first of March - and I don't wash or do shit to my car until it's over - end of April / first of May. Used to be I'd wash my car every Saturday.. buuuuuuuuuuuuuut not so much 5 years later lol
Yes, the pollen can be rough, and frustrating. Love the amount of mileage you have put on the car, you must love driving that thing!

Yes, a lot of the guys on the site I am on are big into racing, but not all. A lot of it is about mods and also mechnical stuff. Since they are older cars (1996-2002), there is a lot of discussion about keeping them on the road!

I think one of the things that keeps my love relationship going with my car is that I put her down for the winter. So, it is fresh every year. I have had her for 6 years. I pretty much DD her in the spring/summer.

Wow, absolutely beautiful vehicle! Must have been hard to part with.

My biggest problem is that I would love to have so many different cars/trucks. Even though my taste mainly runs towards affordable vehicles, I still can't have them all!

I was screwing around with you more than anything else! Doesn't really look that bad at all, I was just betting on you being OCD about your car. Do you have a car forum that you frequent for mustangs? I'm on bimmerforums for my BMW.

but
there is nothing like a good road trip with a special someone snuggled close on a bench seat
the pacers did not have an annoying 3rd person safety belt in the way either

Yeah, it only goes downhill from there. I managed to keep my car until not only the reverse didn't work but I'd lost a gear and a half as well.

Well if you have room for wishes this is mine, a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible. I keep saying that it's going to be my retirement present to myself but more and more looks like it will only ever be a picture on the internet.

I waited 9 years for my dream car. It was both a money issue and a practical issue (practical-it is a roadster). I suggest you put a little money aside at a time. Forego other things in order to be able to put that money aside. You'll get there.

Right now I am getting a lot of stuff done to my car. A few are preventative maintenance items, but I am also getting a couple of things I have been saving for, for a couple of years. Did I miss recreational activities because I wanted to put some nice coilovers on my car and a short shifter? Yes.

You can get there, one penny at a time.

Thanks Dapper. One of my current cars has 225,000 miles on it. It starts every day and runs like a champ. I'm likely going to sell it in August. The sticker is due in September. The check engine light is on and I have narrowed it down to an electrical short as opposed to what that light typically means. I'm not going to put the money into it to fix it just to hope that it will run through another Chicago winter.

It actually makes me kind of sad. It was the first car I ever bought brand new. It only had 38 miles on it the day I took it home. I know that it is stupid and not really rational to be emotional over a car, but that car has been more loyal than to me than both of my exes put together. I was sitting in it when I made the decision not to fix it, and I realized that it has literally taken me through the very best and very worst times of my life. As I sit here typing and thinking about it the impulse is to fix it. Maybe I'm just not ready to let it go.
