Should he have outed himself?

I'm a huge BB fan but have only seen the American version. I watched some of the clips of Luke telling his housemates. I'm not sure how it will effect his chances in the game. I think it would have probably been better to wait. If this is the first week of BB, the houseguests usually vote out anyone that stands out in some way. Since they don't know each other well they tend to focus on what is said and anything that makes a HG stand out. There is little to no plotting and planning in the first week and its rare that any alliances have been formed so that first week or two, guests that usually lay low can get through the first vote.
