It was an "open secret" - he didn't hide it but he hadn't officially come out. He had been spotted in public spots with his partner I think holding hands a few years back.

I'm really glad that they included a lot of female athletes in this! The focus is usually always on gay men given the world's obsession with men's sports leagues.
