I was just wondering what the habits of weighing are for everyone. I find that sometimes the scale is just my worst enemy. I can feel great weigh myself and if the number isn't good will set me up for binge eating. Or just a day of not liking myself.. what is your experience??

Hi healthies
![]() We had our usual 3 mile walk on the beach this morning, but switched it up with 2 short jogging sessions....I'm blaming Sylvie ![]() It felt surprisingly easy....but I'm feeling it this evening. Definitely need to do it again. I'm under doctor's orders of "no running", but the exception to the rule (lucky for me) is that barefoot in sand is okay. My "big news" is that I'm finally going to have to relent and buy some clothes. I can now take off all of my shorts and capris without undoing the buttons and zippers....and things are looking downright baggy. This will involve spending some time in the dressing room figuring out what size I wear these days!

Hey everyone,
Well I figure its about time I get my butt in here, I need my friends to help to motivate me again. I went to the doctor's this morning and found that in 2-3 months I've gained back 15 lbs I went from 330 to 345; I'm not happy about it but I know what I have to do and that's not only get my ass back to the gym but also I asked my doctor if she could refer me to a dietician who specializes in helping people with diabetes. I need to start getting a grip on the food I eat and get back into working out, walking when its not work out day and also starting to eliminate sugar in my daily life. I'll be coming in here more often, leaning on my friends here and looking for inspiration from others (including Jo, JustJo and Sylvie), plus I plan on logging back into Spark People so I can use their expertise ~ all in all I am determined to lose those stupid 15 lbs I gained plus more

I am back...I had my store's grand opening and my sub's surprise birthday party, all on the same day, so all the planning and work made my intentions so hard to fill. But i wasnt so bad. Seriously. I am actually quite proud of myself for not falling completely off track.
I am heading to the YM in a few minutes to get in the heated pull. I overdid the labor and stamina levels and now I need to find some relief. i got a juicer and am going to start using it. I plan on doing one meal a day as juice, probably breakfast because I loath eating when i first get up but love to drink and this can replace my coffee intake. I am going to stop at the store on the way home from the pool and grab some veggies and fruits. I dont weigh myself at all. Its not about my weight. Never want it to be. This is about my health. I am putting too much of the wrong things in my limited stumach and I am feeling the problem. (I also had a serious bulimia problem in my 20s and i am not going to start that up again. Weighing myself could bring up old triggers. And with the surgery I had, even the thought of self induced vomiting could kill me.) I am back on my vitamins too...and Jo, you reminded me to ask about b12 shots again. I dont care if they are paid by insurance or not. I need my shot. gosh i am tired and exhausted...see you all tomorrow...

i don't know if i could do the juicing thing but i am loving my smoothies
i freeze some fruit and use some fresh too adding spinach as Diva said, does not change the taste and its a great extra 0% yogurt ice/cold water after i blend it i add chia seeds in this heat these are so refreshing! |

I have been sick for the past few days with a horrid stumach virus. I have not been able to eat. I must be careful now, as I eat over the next few days because I am hungry now and can tend to overeat.

Okay, so this is just weird...
I have finally completely and totally broken the 200 barrier and am never above it anymore....which is great. I'm doing the new pilot weight loss program for work, working out at Curves, building in more movement whether it's walking on the beach or whatever....and the weight has been slowly creeping down. In fact, it's been slowing creeping down even when I indulge in things like homemade from scratch blueberry whole wheat pancakes with real butter (a little) and real maple syrup (a little), dinners out at awesome Italian restaurants eating chicken picatta with tons of delicious zucchini and fresh artichokes....all kinds of real food, even when it isn't "diet" food. Yesterday, I had an insane craving for Doritos (one of my deadly holdovers of previous bad eating habits). I caved, got a bag, and ate some. Not a ton, not the whole bag.....just some. I got on the scale this morning, and had regained a pound. A pound. For a few handfuls of Doritos. It leaves me wondering what in the heck is in all that processed crap that is so tied in with my weight gain, when even decadent "real" foods don't mess with me. Bizarre.

Ms MorningStar! Hello! Havent seen you for awhile!
I love these dishes! I sent an inquiry about selling these in my store. I have ALOT of customers following healthy diets, and these would be such a good sell! A local bariatric support group hands out my cards, and when people hit levels, they get a discount card to my store! I cant tell you how many people came in to show me how much weight they lost, by bringing photos in! I am so proud of all of them! Some people say this is in conflict with my store. Why? Plus size women can have a good image of themselves AND want to live a better healthier life regarding food choices. We are not stuck over weight. We are stuck by hatred and fear and shame. Remove that, and its a choice, to be where we are, who we are, OR to make daily decisions to move to where we want to be. Quote:

I'm an every day weigher also....it helps keep me on track. I don't worry about a pound or two one way or another, but it makes me feel like I have an "early warning system" this way if I start to get too free and easy with my eating or skipping too much exercise.

I weigh about twice a week,if I weighed more than that it would drive me nuts cause the numbers arent falling fast enough.I know my body has changes as I work out and then am loseing inches from building mussels from loseing fat.

Hi healthies
![]() Well, I've taken the plunge and signed up for the pilot weight loss program at work. It's one we'll be out marketing later on, and we're piloting it with colleagues now. It includes some pretty nifty trackers, weekly (!) coach calls for the first 3 months, and is a 2 year commitment. Based on my current weight, activity level, etc. they want me to eat 1500 calories a day. I know this is a good level for me to lose at, and will nudge me off this plateau. It also means that it's time to get back on the weight loss wagon for me and stop being quite so lax with my eating patterns.Wish me luck...

Good for you, JustJo! Go get 'em, Cowboi! I just negotiated here with the hotel that I can leave my food and kitchen utensils here over the weekend when I fly back to Arizona and check on the furbabies. So far (just 4 days) I have been able to stay on the diet and not be tempted to go astray..... the fitness room in the hotel is not too terrible and I have bonded with some of the hotel guests who are staying here long term..... I just keep on trucking day by day and hope to lose what I need to lose...... Y'all keep on trucking! Also, since I am being medically supervised, I weigh in at home every morning and then once a month when I am checked at the clinic. ![]()

I just stepped on my scale. I weigh more than I ever have in my life. I am going to start walking more than I do and quicker than I do. I already walk quite a bit, as most New Yorkers do, but I need to deliberately add more steps and make them brisker. That's a start, anyway. Also, I need to really get serious about increasing vegetables and fruits, and decreasing take-out/delivery foods. I guess writing this here feels like a commitment to be healthier. As for the weight, well: I would like it to go down, but more important to me is that I be fit.
Oh, yeah: I need to quit smoking. That's the hardest thing in the world for me. I suspect that once I get serious about moving and walking more, it will be less difficult because I'll want and need my breathing to be better!
