poetry has a don't judge clause. it is what it is. no guidelines. and i never assume the person who wrote the piece ... lived the piece. we've always heard it said to write what you know. and we should. but we don't have to for it to be moving.

Yes, it is safe here to share. And no, you didn't cause pain by your sharing. I am not that young child, or that young girl, or even that young woman anymore. They are all part of the woman I am today, but they do not define me. And I don't have to compartmentalize them away anymore either.
