Where is your slice of heaven?

My slice of heaven was having the ability to help take care of my dad for the past year. Work never stopped for me. My career is super demanding and then I would come home and assist the nurse with my father.

It was the most exhausting year of my life, yet the most rewarding. I've had to send him back to a nursing home to have more immediate medical assistance when needed, but I'm so happy for the time I was blessed with.

To those of you that sent cards and letters of concern I thank you. I'm glad I have the time to catch up with everything that's been going on here. Love you all.

My slice of heaven is anywhere I feel comfortable being myself, safe, calm, and in awe of something outside myself.

Sometimes my slice of heaven is in my head.

There is a slice in my child's laugh. When she holds my hand and tells me how happy she is to be doing so. When she speaks her mind. When she leaves me messages. When she can't stop giggling while trying to sneak up on me. When she writes me stories that no one else gets, yet, they make perfect sense to her.

When she does just about anything. It's way more than a slice, it's the whole damn pie.

Walking around in the fields, nothing but me, the pups and an occasional deer or groundhog. The sun on my skin feels great. Enough privacy to let it shine wherever i want to!
