He always puts me first..... I was never his consolation prize.... It was love at first sight.... He's always there for me and always has been....no questions asked... I know it's repetitive, but...
... because (even though I saw her before school this morning) as all of the other kids were getting off the bus and walking calmly (blandly) towards their cars/parents, one special 6yo's face lit up like the sun when she saw me waiting there for her instead of her mom, then she jumped off the bus steps, [rudely] pushed past another kid, and ran and jumped into my arms and buried her face into my neck, saying "Abuela! You're NEVER here to pick me up! This is the best part of my day! I love you so much!" Even with all the dark and ugly parts of this divorce, her love sustains me, and having her in my life is the priceless golden lining that came out of the dark cloud of that huge mistake of a relationship. |
