Miss this thread and I miss Jo!

Walking lots more at my new job. Very tiring but helping to lose weight. Had a harder time eating healthfully at the job this week. They served lunch the first 4 days and none of it was what I would ordinarily eat. I was having to do things like pick the chicken out of a chicken fettuccine! Yuck. It will be good to get back to bringing my own lunch. I have lost 13 pounds in the last 2 months. There is a gym a few doors down from my building and they do have a discount for employees. I might look into joining as I can tell I will need some additional stamina for this job. Hope everyone is doing well, even if you are not posting.

I have a gym membership to a 24 hour place, but I just haven't had the energy to go....followed by a bunch of other excuses. However, I did start to eat better a couple of months ago and I've lost 10lbs just from that, which I personally think is fantastic.

While at the reunion, I put that to the side and gained about 4lbs but have shed 3 of those since I came back, so I'm still in the negative. Wee. I do plan, now that I actually have another person working my store, that I will get 1. days off 2. more time on my days off to devote to my pursuits instead of frantic errand running Great job, Anya! |

			Good for you Gemme!

Now that I am going to be attending next year's Reunion, I have another in a long line of motivations for losing weight ~ the biggest being my health over and above everything else, but also to look smashing for next year

			Hello everybody!

I'm still losing weight. Went to the reunion, ate things I don't normally eat and lots of cake lol but I jumped on the scale this morning and still dropping. A friend of Z's gave her some shake mix to try and I'm the one that's been using it. It is visalus. I like the product and been making shakes with it for about 2 weeks, but not so sure I like the idea and buying into the product and marketing concept. I will use up all the mix I have and make a decison on it. For now, I'm using one shake for one of my meals either breakfast or lunch. Other than that I'm kinda watching what I eat but havent' really changed anything with what I eat, portions, or exercise. I want to finish this mix and research some other mixes with similar ingredients to see what works for me. I also grabbed some Slim fast bars for a quick snack or a breakfast and I enjoy those too. One is peanut butter and tastes like a butterfinger and the other is double fudge. It's good for if you're having a candy or chocolate bar craving as it's less calories and sugar. Ingredients in a Visalus Mix proteins processed to remove fat, lactose, carbohydrates and isoflavones to provide pure, concentrated protein. When mixed with milk or soy milk, it provides 20-22 grams of protein, the right mix to burn fat and build lean muscle, low sodium, contains a serving of whole milk, for bone healthy calcium, contains a full serving of fruit or vegetable fiber, without gas, contains digestive aids and enzymes, including prebiotic activity for maximum nutrition absorption. It is 90 calories with 10 fat calories. 75 mg of sodium. 125 mg of potassium. 7 g of carb. 5 g of dietary fiber. -1 g of sugar. 12 g protein. soy, whey protein. fibersol. aminogen. 23 other ingredients and vitamins and minerals. With this shake mix I really enjoy frozen strawberries. I add about 5. the shake mix and 8 oz of nonfat milk and enjoy a smoothie, my fav flavor. I've also tried frozen peaches and a banana with chocolate soy milk and ice cubes for variety. Here are more recipes for smoothies whether you use Visalus or another shake mix or just want some ideas for a smoothie, etc.. http://join-body-by-vi.com/2011/04/1...shake-recipes/ |

			Good morning beautiful healthies!

So I read something about eggs. That raw vs cooked makes no difference in the protein your body is getting. Raw egg will contain salmonella though so it's better to cook it, although not so sure people actually get sick on a raw one. A large egg contains about 6 grams of protein. So it's good for you! So do you like eggs, and how do you like them? I made two this morning over easy but could only stomach one with my pork green chili. lol. just didn't want anymore! ![]() I like mine over easy, scrambled sometimes if not runny or with veggies. I like to make like a scrambled patty for a breakfast sandwich and omelettes. So, I've been thinking i want to start a page about nutrition, health, tips, recipes, motivation, support. If you are interested in joining that when I get it going send me a pm here and I'll get you into that. Happy Friday and have a great weekend everybody! |

I love eggs! Very versatile and a good budget stretcher too.

I like them scrambled with salsa or veggies mixed in. I like them boiled and sliced up into a salad for a little extra protein. I like omelets as a quick and easy dinner, you can put pretty much anything in there. I like them baked en mass with spices, veggies, and a little bit of cheese. This freezes well. I like green eggs and ham! *okay, that might be another thread*Something I like to do to get the flavor and texture I want and save a lot of calories is to just eliminate every other yolk. Reduces the saturated fat by 1/2 too. Now I'm hungry.

I like scrambled eggs, damp. Not runny or too wet but not dry either. Damp. I like omelets with veggies, especially onions, mushrooms and bell peppers. I like them hard boiled too, as a snack or salad addition. |

Eggs are good..... I like eggs scrambled, omelets, fried or hard boiled... And sometimes (like right now) I could go for a good poached egg I am not so fond of just egg whites for omelets or scrambles...I like the yolk. When I fry my eggs I like the yolk runny to dip the toast in... Back on a pretty strict 1200 calorie diet since returning from Reunion....still have a ways to go before hitting goals....but I keep on truckin' cuz I need to...... ![]()

I'm really super strange...I like to crack eggs into a frying pan with butter(I do not eat low fat), stir them (not scramble), let them cook through, then mix them with miracle whip, a tiny bit of brown mustard, bacon or sausage crumbles, and salt & pepper. Then I chill the fried egg salad to eat later. To me, this is yum.

After allowing lesser important things to derail me, my focus has been returned to my health. (Mostly due to a kick in the *blank* from some blood test results.)

In the last month I have changed what fuels I place in my body and have started back to the gym. Results: I feel so much better and I have shaved off 8 pounds. I believe my focus and commitment to be much stronger now. Health: Here I come!!!

Weighed this morning...already 5 lbs gone since Friday.....this is what happens! I lose the first 10 lbs quickly and then come to an almost stand still for several Weeks. Luckily over the last 125 lbs I've learned that or else it would probably piss me off!

I gained 7 lbs over reunion - probably because

Is it true the scale may show a weight gain the day after a workout? I was told the muscles retain fluid after working out.

Not that it will change my working out. I just like to verify what I have been told. Thanks!

I got a little "obsessed" with the scale a couple of years ago and would weight myself immediately before and after my workouts as well as later in the day (I did morning workouts). My lowest weight would be immediately after a workout and before eating because of the water I lost through sweat, so I'm not sure if the muscles retain more water than normal after working out. It seems logical though. |

My wife and I have been doing WW for about 6 months now-- and have lost about 40 lbs together. She has about 15 more pounds til she hits her goal and I have about 50-70 more pounds for my goal. Its slow, but it feels good-- to be lighter.

My one thing I am not good at is -- drum roll: exercise. Any suggestions on what to motivate someone? |

This morning, I stepped on the scale to find myself at the lowest weight I've been at since maybe a year ago if not longer.

155.0 Sweet! Now, I'm thinking that it's definitely time to get back into exercising. My gym membership is getting dusty and, while my clothes are fitting a little better, I'm still quite jiggly. I hate the jiggle. Ahk, I'd love to give you pointers, but even in my most exercise-driven days, I can't really say I was motivated by exercise itself. What motivated me was the results, the compliments from said results (because I'm vain like that) and challenging myself to go harder and farther than the previous session/week/month. I also enjoyed the cuter clothes. What's up with that? You can only have super cute workout clothes if you are a size itty bitty? Bah. Anywho......my point is maybe focus on the results end of it instead of the exercise part of it? So many days, I didn't want to go to the gym....it was cold/rainy/early/annoying....but I did and I got results. When I didn't go, I got less results. *shrug* Maybe engaging in sports that you enjoy? That way, you'll have positive movement and enjoy what you are doing, so it feels less like working out and more like recess. I never liked sports, so this mentality really never helped me.
