Elections 2012: BFP Watch Party

Bad news for Arizona. The most vile racist hateful Sheriff in the West was just re elected in Maricopa County. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is the guy who runs "Tent City" where temps top 120 degrees in the summer and people die. Mostly women. Innocent people who are awaiting trail or just happened to not have a green card or visa on them when they get pulled over. This man is a criminal. A murderer. And $8 Million came in to run his campaign, 97% of it from out of state. The guy spent $100,000 sending people to Hawaii to look for Obama's birth certificate while the state dropped organ donor programs and let people die because they had no money. He raids the homes of immigrants looking for people with no papers and deports them within 12 hours. This includes children. His "civilian militia" is suspected of having gunned down innocent people in the desert. Only bodies were found.

So America...in some of these lost forgotten places in the South..we are still in the 1950's...racism and hate still prevail..and a lot of people need someone to care. Do me a favor folks and ask our President to do something about Arizona and Sheriff Joe. A lot of good people are grieving tonight.

Dont know if anyone's mentioned this, but for those interested, with a little over 80% of votes counted, marriage equality and the legalization of MJ are both leading here in WA. In fact, the news here is calling the legalization of MJ a win, but they wont call marriage equality just yet.

According to my FB, marriage equality passed in both Maine and Maryland.

Looks like Prop 30 in California might not pass. If it doesn't, I might not have a job in a few months. There's a dark cloud.

Just as I said that Jerry Brown got on NBC and says he's optimistic, that the early votes are absentee which are more conservative.

subhan'allah walhamdulillah. not that i'm saying he's muslim but just that considering what it felt like for muslims leading up to the last election...it means something to me at least that the republicans weren't able to win with their hateful rhetoric about things as trivial and as meaningful as his name. and also in some ways i think a victory for immigrants and second generation americans - that not only an african-american man but that a man with a kenyan father is the president of the united states.
