When you are writing your message, do you see a bar with the font, the size etc? If you don't, try clicking the double A/A on the far right. Or, you can try clicking the smilies to the right. The MORE link will pop up a box with a bunch of smilies.

I actually did all that ..went to the MOre section link and copied the smilie...maybe that's what I did wrong...well for now I'll just use the old fashion simple ones like this :-)
