A place that can help you DISCOVER who you are, give meaning to the jumbled up thoughts and feelings you have, and then help encourage you to CELEBRATE and OWN the finished product!

(well, at least that is what happened, and essentially continues to happen with me. I am a work in progress. You all have helped me, and countless others, in learning what it could possibly MEAN to be a Femme, or a Butch, or a bottom or Top, or any other friggin cubbyhole you might want to explore. And all the while, loving us, and encouraging us, and crying with us when we cry, laughing with us (and sometimes at us!) when we laugh, teaching us when we question. Finally accepting us, moreso than I think I have ever been accepted in a community before.)

It's all the good things about summer camp when I was a kid, without all the mosquitoes and flaming marshmallows.

Seriously folks, it's always here, pretty much always supportive, has interesting people to crush on, er to play with, and peeps are nice to newbs... The breadth and depth of experiences and knowledge 'round here are awesome. I'm still pretty much a newbster, but am really enjoying my time here.

One of the things that really knocked my socks off was when I offered a differing opinion based on my experiences than the general flow, and didn't get my ass flamed from here to eternity. One of two peeps agreed with me, and we had some good convo about it. Had I posted the same thing in Fetlife, my butt would resemble the marshmallows above. It seems like people here are less likely to take "in my experience" posts as a personal affront than on other fora.

So thanks for doing what you do peeps (Owners, Admins, Mods and Posters and all!).

I still very much consider myself a newb here though I've been following along for a couple of years now. To me, The Planet is my anchor that keeps me grounded in who I really am when the world outside and everyone in it is desperately trying to smash me into one of their boxes. I look forward to reading the new posts on here and check in almost every day. Thank you Medusa and Jack, and Linus too, for all that you do to make this place possible.
And thank you to everyone for all of your encouragement to live proud and brave as who and what we are.

Hmmm..I have not been a prolific poster, or stalker on the planet. I check in from time to time, see some familiar screen names, then go back to whatever I was doing earlier. There is something reassuring about knowing i can pop in whenever i have time, check out the new threads, catch up on the familiar threads, then go on with other things.

The aspect of the planet that is far more important to me is the opportunity to make friends that meet up in real life. The friends that i have met and stayed in touch with on this site are some of the finest people I know

I'm much more of a stalker than I used to be and I spend far too much time in chat now. I still think the opportunity for friendship is key. Being able to spend time with people who "get me" is an awesome feeling.

Being introverted it's my preferred method of social gathering

It's learning. I've had my eyes opened to some things that have made me wiser.

It's where i can talk about being a kinky femme

It's where i can connect with my femme sisters

its being exposed to butch energy

It's where i share my joy and i have lots of that to share

It means a lot to me.

For me, BFP is a place of self-discovery amongst a warm, friendly community, as my life is taking some unexpected twists and turns. It's played its part (and continues so to do) in helping me overcome some old personal demons and hangups that have caused me much stress over the years.

It's such a shame that I'm never likely to meet any of the folk here offline, as, butch, femme or other alike, the community here is just so damned nice, sweet, and I've laughed and cried many a time at posts here in just the few months I've been a member. BFP is like having a bunch of aunties, uncles and siblings I can talk to when I need to or just play with online when I wish. I love BFP!

The planet has provided me with the resources and friends to grow into my own skin and feel comfortable. I have found many friends that i will cherish the rest of my life. There are a few people on this site that i am especially close to. The planet has given me something to look forward to once a year (the Reunion). That is the one time that i can show myself without the fear of being judged. This place is home for me.
