I don't have a problem with needles of any size
I think what holds me back is having focus on what I want treatment to "fix."
I don't have any severe pain...but lots of little things are off...I have flat feet so my feet/ankles/knees/hips get to suffer
I have frequent problems with nausea and don't absorb nutrients well (low iron, low vitamin D, prolly low other stuff) which has become more problematic since having my stomach/intestines rearranged.

I 'spose I should surf the web a bit

Hi Blistex,

You should really consider it. It would help with many of your issues you list. You should do a web search for someone in your area and see all their credentials. If you find someone that looks promising, the first thing they do is an evaluation and go over your medical history, etc. and discuss what the procedure consists of. You'll never know until you try, so it's worth a shot. This week will be 5 weeks I've been going and I feel beyond great and never thought I'd feel like my old self again. I used this as the last resort to help with some health issues. I wish I had done this sooner, but as they say, better late than never.

Best to you,
-Scorp-

I've gotten it a few times. It's great. I wish I could afford to go regularly. Especially now, because I really feel my chi is waaaayyyyy out of whack.

And Mel, I have found that accupuncture, certainly can treat the "big" problems. But often what you describe, a combination of lots of minor, unrelated issues, is really well served by accupuncture. Again, in my humble opinion, it sounds like a chi/energy flow issue.

I think acupuncture rocks. I have an old friend that used to live in MD and when she first started she would take her table and travel to a residence. She also did acupuncture on animals. I used to fly to MD a couple times a month on weekends(back in the days of cheap flights) and she'd take care of my migraines and stomach problems. First she'd do something and check my aura before she'd start. She has since moved from MD and has opened her own place where she now lives. If it wasn't for the expense right now, I'd give her a call and ask her to look me up someone I could trust where I live. Long short of it, acupuncture helped me. It may not work for everyone though.

Default Doggie Do

My Ex found acupuncture worked for ear and neck pain. She was diagnosed with severe hyperacousis and tinnitis after blowing out her ears in front row seating at a Cyndi Lauper Concert, and had a neck injury years ago. Now, if she is just feeling icky, gets a cold, or misc. pains , she returns to her acupuncturist.

I had a neighbor who took her dachshund to an acupuncturist versus having back surgery on her long weenie dog. IT worked, doggie was able to stand and walk better..

As for me, I love my Chiro Gyro.

I absolutely LOVE it.....it is so relaxing and calming....
Who KNEW having 2 dozen needles in one's body could be so liberating! It is an amazing process.....

Thumbs up

I've tried acupuncture about a year ago to help with knee pain. It didn't hurt and it seemed to help. The only issue was that my insurance didn't cover it, so I paid a sliding scale reduced fee.

I would definitelty recommend it and would go back, if ever needed.

I used it many years ago for pain control. It worked for that very well.

The acupuncture could not "repair" the damage so my end result was several surgeries.
After the surgeries I went back for acupuncture to help with the pain and it worked very well.

My treatment with my acupuncturist included a tens unit, heat, ice and light massage.
