This is very interesting. I recently have been asked to go into the classroom at work, to teach soft skills at high speed (how I describe my technique) to our trainees, to sit with them for coaching purposes as they begin to take calls, and to allow them to sit with me. In the past, I would have turned all of this down flat.

Something is shifting in my personality as of late, and I am very excited about this opportunity. In the past few months, I have had trainees sitting with me while I take calls, and while they were there to learn from me, I found myself learning something from them too. They come out of the classroom with a fresh perspective, which is something that is, at times, hard to come by, for a seasoned customer service rep who has been taking customer calls for the past 25 years (going on 5 years with this company).

Last year, I left a really lucrative job for new adventures and I've not really found my "niche" here just yet. It has left me feeling really out of sorts.

However, I interviewed at the end of last week for a position that I would really like to have and now I am waiting to hear if I will be invited back for a final interview.

Your post made me feel hopeful. Thank you for that!
