Today Is.....

On my way home last night, I'm sitting behind this woman who was looking to make a left turn - either she was on her cell phone chatting away or texting - because I really don't think she was paying attention when she tried to cut off the oncoming car (who had the right of way, mind you).

The crash happened just a few feet from me.

No one seemed to be hurt, but the right front of her car was completely totaled.

People REALLY need to put that cell phone down.

Yes....today, Oprah was on the Today Show talking about this very thing!

Yesterday I posted about a man who nailed an ambulance and the fire engine behind the ambulance. It happened up the street from my home. The guy is still in Shock Trauma, and thank God the crew from the Vol. Fire Dept. involved were not hurt, nothing serious, but knocked around (bruised up quite a bit) and the ambulance and fire engine did have pretty extensive damage to the vehicles. Unbelieveable.

NJFemme, I am so happy that you are ok. That is so scarey to have happen.

NJFemme, I am so happy that you are ok. That is so scarey to have happen.

I was VERY close to it (too close for comfort, even) - but I was far enough away to swing around the whole thing without hitting the back of her car.

I still have the image of her air bag deploying in my head. And if memory serves me correctly - when her hands went up in the air as it deployed, I am certain I saw what could have been a cell phone in her hand. (That's how close I was to it, oy.)

I'm fine. I just hope they're both okay.
