I am dealing with this issue myself, as of 3 days ago. I feel similar to you about not accepting the apology and holding grudges.
However, I have had someone not accept my apology, it hurt me to be honest, because that person was very special to me, at one time. I hope you find what you are needing, just know you aren't alone.
