Your Fortune Cookie for today ...
I've been going through old boxes, trying to purge junk I don't need to hoard or move with me next month... a difficult task at this time because of my work load and messed up back...
I keep finding little fortune cookie slips in the old boxes I never unpacked from Pennsylvania .... I must have kept them because they made me smile or some unconscious collecting habit? ?... but finding them during this dreaded purging/ moving task has brought a few more smiles and reminders of positive thinking ... today I found : "A day is a span of time no one is wealthy enough to waste." How perfect its timing, to remind me to stop procrastinating!! for those of us who love fortune cookies ... what's yous??? Did you like its message? or Did it make you wrinkle your nose and think "who writes this stuff?!" (I've gotten some very strange ones before! !) What FUN, POSITIVE message would you like to slip into someone else's cookie??

I still have this tiny piece of paper: I used to keep it pinned to the area right above the rearview mirror in my car with an antique angel pin that my god-mothers gave to me years ago. But the slip of paper in the fortune cookie was from a late night supper at a Chinese restaurant in Ashland - I loved their hot and sour soup! |

I just found another little slip of paper on top the microwave ...
"Do not seek so much to find the answer as much as to understand the question better. " this soooo describes several of the situations I encounter at work and sometimes in my personal interactions... especially today when I got an email from a coworker who has a serious lack of defining her question (which leads me to try to understand her question better and leads to me asking questions to clarify ... rather than jumping at giving her a half assed answer that she will open a can of worms with...). and especially when I received letters and forms from mu Supervisor that required my analyst skills in over drive. Well Mr.... I realized today that I clearly understand "the question " better and I'll prove it. I can't be trumped that easy. Often in.my life, because my brain is wired to be an analyst, I do not seek so much to find the answer as much as to understand the question better. maybe this also applies to self-inner analysis and reflection.
