I personally think that But I'm A Cheerleader is the best movie featuring Queers EVER.

The kids are all right....
I haven't had a chance to read this whole thread, so if I'm repeating someone else I am sorry
I saw this new movie with Annette Benning and Julianne Moore this past weekend...a really good movie about a Lesbian couple and their children. Annette was a "butch type" character in dress and such, but there was zero butch energy from her and it was a bit distracting. I really think they should have found a butch actor for the role. It was however the best movie I have seen in a long time, but leave the kids at home; a lot of Adult only content. If you get a chance to see it, it is worth the $11.00. |

See that's what I'm talkin' about..
I agree It can be corny, cheesy, Crude..Tasteless, Awesome.... Before being Queer became Chic and popular {some do the Gay-For-Pay happily nnw}... I'd grab whatever came by that had any representation of my community... be it gay.. be it butch/femme or butch/butch , or femme/femme... Nowadays? most youth have More than enuff to be picky and critical..... I watched Ellen's sitcom at first cuz it was funny, when the rumors started flying, I was glued.... When it was said she was going to come out in sitcom, I spent $$$ to get cable.... I lived in the bumfuck region in Puerto Rico, and cable guys HATE goin to those areas..... I saw "puppy love" happily..hell I had a small lil get together with close friends, just for it.. I loved the "Warm-up" episodes... So...yeah....same with Frasier {Niles Crane with tons of Innuendo....david hyde pierce was fiercely private, came out recently only to support california} Also will & grace {my gaydar did go off, but i shrugged it off 'just cuz he plays Jack perfectly well, doesnt mean he is...is he?} curve magazine had a blast promoting 'Itty Bitty', Danielle's cute though... Wasn't too crazy for Max in L word..meh... When I was a kid, 'The Hunger' was my first introduction to lesbian sex {besides my fathers dumb porno rags}, Annie Lennox + David Bowie triggered My taste in certain Masculine clothing {and a few Fetishes-cough-} Nowadays, u got the pick of the Crop {no pun}, and can pick apart to your hearts content.... U can happily say "hmm, good...but not Butch enough.....that other butch was better"{likewise for Femme} Hell u can giggle about very..Clipped sex scenes...

Movie looks very funny, but I don't want to support a movie which includes the tired, old theme of, "well, she just needed the right man". I don't think this is the deal, but I just want to make sure before I head off to the theater. If it is pro-homo, then I am IN !

Am I the only person who is disgusted that whoever made that video included fucking Hilary Swank playing Brandon Teena?

You know, I totally resent this comment. I ditched the fanny pack way back in the 80's.

The Fox (1967) Sandy Dennis, Anne Heywood
Although the film's publicity would indicate otherwise, the two women are not necessarily presented as homosexual. Based on D.H. Lawrence's novella about two young women - sickly, chattering Jill Banford and quiet, strong Ellen March - who are trying, hopelessly, to run a chicken farm in Canada. A gentle but powerful man named Paul Renfield who used to live on their farm returns and puts things in order. But his proposal of marriage to Ellen awakens the homosexuality dormant in the girls: Jill uses her weakness to make Ellen feel protective, and the women become active lovers. |
