Bad carb (by bad I mean junk food) hangover is what it sounds like. Don't let that one night ruin it for the rest of the week. Keep at it!

Talking Mark This Offa the Bucket List

Howdy Y'all! Well I can mark doing a half marathon offa the Bucket List now! I completed 13.1 miles in 2:49:42,a fair bit slower than the 2:30 I was shooting for,but with no more training than I got in prior to the run,I'm happy with it.The best part of it all was that my girl's son decided to do the 2 mile kid's run and we ran the first mile together then she followed him back to the finish. It was rainy and cold the whole run,and the most beautiful sight I saw was them waiting in the rain for me at the finish;that is what kept me going the last 3 miles, knowing they were there, because I really wanted to quit, but quit isn't in my DNA sequence So now I have decided that I think I have a full marathon in me somewhere, but with school starting,it may have to wait a year or two to get out! I did enroll in a Spin Class to get in shape for spring/summer road cycling and will be back in the woods on my mountain bike and back in the pool training for a 5 mile swim attempt this spring! Hope everyone is gettin' 'er done and having fun in the doing! Shad

w00t! Congrats, ShadowsPapa! That must feel awesome to have that done and experience that run with the little one.

I managed to get through another 20 min workout this morning (this time with the resistance bands). My arms feel like rubber! I'll probably continue with just the 20 min version for a week or two and then up it to see if I can complete the whole 30 min workout.

I saw my doctor yesterday and he was very impressed with my last lab work and my blood pressure (it had been climbing but since introducing more exercise it's dropped back down to a good value).

Go Team BFP!

Well, I'm completed the 35 min cardio workout (from starting stretch to ending stretch). I managed to keep up with about 98% of the exercises and only got confused on a couple.

I hate squats more than any other exercise. I have a squat machine—I still hate them in my leg routine which is once a week

Squats are always a challenge and weighted ones I don't think I can do because of back issues. I used to do the leg press and because of cycling could easily do 250lbs+. It has been quite a while since then. However, I do lunges now and I still hate those.

I just finished my free weight/resistance band training this afternoon and got even farther than before (35 min of 45 min). So still getting there. I'm at least keeping up with the reps and exercise. I had a vegan protein smoothie before that and am feeling good (although my arms are like rubber right now).

Just have to keep at it, even the exercises we don't like!

Well....I own my own weights and gym which I love having. But because I suffer from severe PTSD, and I'm moving through that trauma, I haven't been able to workout.

Well, I started up again yesterday because i really miss it. But today was the first day I started Shaun T's Insanity program which full blown cardio like you have never seen it. I thought I was going to die. I had to pause it probably 5-6 times to catch my breath. There's exercises on there that I had never seen and they are incredible.

This is a 60-day cardio program to change your weight and body dramatically.
No bullshit, it's an amazing program. There are 10 different disks, each having different 25-minute programs as you advance over a 60-day period. No weights or any equipment is required.

It's going to be rough. I'm an ex-smoker, 4 years now, and I felt every bit of breathlessness doing this program even after 4 years of quitting.

I'm also 53, but i have no problem of letting that stand in the way. I'm still strong enough to endure and build up with my weightlifting program.

Default Still hanging on~~

Ive been working out as many days as possable untill something in my back/nec or shoulder has a hissy. My work outs are scedualed as two on one off but if I can do more days in a row I will but need to becareful cause the back injury is a bitch when its on a roll.I have a bow flex, tredmill, exersise bike and a weight bench with free weights as ell as a tennis ball with a retreaver band on it ( it comes back when u hit it) wich I play against the garage wall.
Wish I had a squat and leg press machine, wich is he next thing im going to get.Squats can be dificult but I use a really snug weight belt and that helps a lot.
I loat 42 pounds last year and have another 50 to go to get back to 200lbs,if I lose more great if not I will be just as happy. Not trying to be skinny just healthy.

Jet, I understand the stall in your working out. I'm going through something similar (in that an emotional/mental state is affecting my physical self).

Two years ago this month, I left an unhealthy relationship. Since then, I've worked hard to be as good to myself as I possibly can and that's worked fairly well (give or take) until this month. My housemates are going through a nasty split and the past three weeks have been very difficult on all of us in the house, due to physical proximity as well as emotional ties to each person. The fights, the tears, the drama....*sigh*....I love them and I hate to say it, but I'm glad that one of them finally left the house. It is still not a healthy home by any standards, but it's better and that helps me.

I am a chameleon. I adapt to the environment. If it's a good one, I do really well. When it's not, unfortunately, I don't. So, I've been emotionally eating and hibernating in my space and generally not being kind to myself.

I am interested in the program you are talking about. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you? Feel free to pm me if you don't want to post it here. Thanks.

I forgot to mention...this cardio program is so insane....it will kick......your......ass.
That is, if you don't have a heart attack first.
