I was up early this morning. Had my oatmeal pancake, prework out shake and was off to the gym. Had a great workout(I love it when the gym is empty). Had my post work out protein shake, and am having some scrambled egg with with salsa now.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am having cold Oatmeal Squares Cereal sans the milk and coffee for breakfast this morning! My workout, will be walking around the BJ's Wholesale Club this afternoon with my roommate..I added more music to my Exercise playlist on the Vevo app for the iPhone. I added, Kat DeLuna to the mix and I have found trying to keep up with her is hard as hell, but I will do it!

Have a great day,

Zimmy

I just wanted to come in and say hi to everyone; I've only been allowing Myself one small glass of pop per day since wednesday, and having other things the rest of the time (mostly water, but also some milk and juice). I just had some red grapes and apple slices for breakfast along with some water; the swelling in My legs and feet has pretty much all disappeared and its alot easier to walk around now. I'm feeling overall alot better and just bought the brand new Weight Watchers magazine for September/October which I've already started to investigate ~ I'm enjoying it so far and can't wait to try new tips :-)

[warning: sappiness is about to ensue]

First off, I would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Jo, Zimmy, and Matthew for their lifechanging sucesses this week. It is very inpiring to read about people taking back control of their own health.

Also, thank you to Scorp for your honest account of your week and helping me remember that this is not going to be perfect and small setbacks do not have to be license to go batshit crazy. If I was capable of just stopping this behavior forever I would have done it a long time ago.

Lastly, thank you to everyone for your very kind responses to my first post. Sadly, 'Fuck it Day' continues, but not at full binge status. I will have to take my lumps at weigh in on Monday, but I have already decided that skipping weigh in to try to pretend that I was not engaged in bingeing behavior will not help me realize my goals.

Nor will sneaking out to the grocery store at 9 o'clock at night, buying pieces of cake the size of my head, and eating them in my car.... Gotta work on that.

Good day everybody! After 1 week sticking to my diet I lost 10 lbs. . . I was so wanting some birthday cake and yesterday I was totally craving mexican food. I saw some chocolates at the store, quickly looked away smiling not even craving it. I didn't cave to any temptations. I've stayed on my path and am happy. I feel like I have more energy. I was one to drink a lot of pepsi and I haven't missed it. . This morning I had apple slices and dark roast coffee. I'm off to figure out lunch which is probably crab meat and cucumber slices drizzled in vinegar dressing.

anyone lift weights? Someone told me yesterday instead of doing sets or 3 sets with a certain amount of reps one should start with as many as one can do in the first rep. wait 10 seconds go again with how many you can till you can't . wait 10 seconds and continue on this way. and the reason they said was because if you're doing a certain amount in your reps your muscles get used to it and you aren't really working them. and this other way you are shocking your muscles and they are having to adjust and work. . and it doesn't matter the weight only how it is done. so anyone heard of this or what is your routine? I am on a low calorie diet right now so I'm not hitting the gym as much and just sticking to an ab workout for now. But I cannot wait to get back into basketball and weights.

Default Checkin' In!

I have had a stupid-crazy schedule this week and haven't been around as much as I'd like and couple that with mental exhaustion and my usual pep is languishing away under the couch.

Still, I've done well this week with cravings and food. Had a few days at work where I had to eat at the cafe and was a little apprehensive about the choices. Bless the cook's heart but she literally drowns the veggies in butter and adds cheese to almost everything.
Still, I was able to get a steamed veggie medley one day with a side of brown rice and another day I raided the salad bar. The only decent things on the salad bar were the lettuce mix, carrots, bell peppers, and onion. The rest of it was cheese, olives, egg, and other stuff I'm not too crazy about.

I sneaked a peak yesterday and I weighed in at 295. I began my journey at 335. I'm officially free of 40 pounds forever.
I've had to battle back and forth with these 5 pounds for a few weeks now because my body seems to be freaked out that I'm firmly under 300 for the first time in years. Still, I could ramp up my exercise this coming week and make sure that my lunches aren't too carb-loaded.

I have a goal dress for the Reunion that I might not make it into and I'm actually ok with that knowing that it's just another milestone that might come a little later than expected.

My bottom line is that this weight has to go bye-bye forever. I'm tired of yo-yo dieting and being out of control and since I started this, I feel very much in control of my desires even when I have to give the control over to the part of me who will force the apple when fat-me really wants some cake and ice cream. It's all choices.

I revolve around the thought that every single thing I put in my mouth is a choice. I've gotten into the habit of asking myself "Is this a good choice?" or "Is there a better choice" or "Am I making this choice or am I on autopilot". I've been able to catch myself in autopilot moments more and more and am happy that they are getting fewer and further in between.

My waist has gone down 7 inches since I started. I'm the incredible shrinking woman.

Someone that I barely know at work asked me if I had gastric bypass.
My reply, "No, I haven't but that's really a rude question to ask someone you don't know."

Also - Here is a little trick I've been relying on:

This also comes in a butter flavor and can save you a TON of calories and fat on things like grilled corn or steamed broccoli!

Instead of drowning your steamed broccoli in butter and cheese, just sprinkle a little of the above and it's pretty damn good!

The butter sprinkles are also good in oatmeal, on popcorn, and lots of other veggies.

Indian food is great. If you like some zest in there I have "Vegan Fire & Spice" by Robert Robertson which has recipes from India as well as African, Middle Eastern countries, Caribbean and some others as well.

Whatever you pick up, if you have trouble locating some of the more exotic spices World Spice is a great resource. Their quality is top notch and if you have any spice questions just ring them up, very knowledgable staff.

Only a 8 oz loss today at my weigh in, but I'm excited! It was a hellacious week, probably one of the worst for me ever, professionally speaking and I didn't freak out and eat 21 lbs of Mac and Cheese or anything crazy. Just kept moving forward. So, I have lost 18 lbs so far. I'm excited! My 36 Levis are calling me!!!!

To everyone posting here, stay the course and be strong!!! You can do it!

Welcome to the thread!!! You're in the right place, and we're all happy you are here.

Although there are many juicers and prices you'll waste a lot of producer picking the wrong one. For instance I use to have a Juice Man and the pulp was soaking meaning it didn't do it's job. I personally like Breville and have a juice fountain. This one is 199.00

I'm one of the lucky ones that has a treadmill at home and some weights, but they were cheep, not high end machines. I also have a gym membership that is paid for by my insurance plan on Medicare. I use it when I'm not sick and or hurt.
Getting healthy is cheeper than getting unhealthy, it's all about the choices we make for ourselves.
Excellent post Corky

I don't do the gym. It takes too long to get there and I hate working out. Walking and and swimming I love. The gallon jugs is good. I lift 2 gallon feed buckets when watering my dogs.

Something really fun that burns a lot of calories is Zumba. You can do this at home.
