For those of us who are students, most colleges...even community colleges...offer some sort of fitness center.

There's the Y.

The usual suspects....Gold's Gym, Planet Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, 19 Hour Fitness, Bally, etc.

Dance studios.

Apartment complex facilities/pools.

Getting together with friends and walking/running/biking/hiking/etc.

Good morning and welcome to everyone new to the thread!

Well, yesterday was a complete write off. I started badly with blueberry pancakes, syrup and crispy bacon....and went downhill from there.

My body retaliated though....and I was sick all night.

It's amazing how what would have been a fairly normal eating day a few months ago now leaves me doubled over and sick. Scary stuff.

I'm back on track today....high fiber oatmeal and black coffee...and trying to be nice to my still unhappy stomach.

Good morning,

I hear you on this one. One of the things I have found is that after eating very clean mostly whole foods is that the tolerance for crap really goes away. I suppose that is good, the body healing itself and its ability to re-identify toxins.

But when you feel like, “Hey, I can have a binge day, it won’t really matter to the big picture” and it backfires like this it seems a bit unfair. About three weeks ago I did a face plant into a bucket of ice cream, and while fun at the time, it just about killed me the next day. Quite the hangover.

Then, just to add insult to injury; the refined sugar set up an incredibly strong craving cycle that lasted about four days. I felt like a junkie for sugar.

I know exactly what it feels like to have stomach problems after going on a " I deserve a free day" ugh .... 2 days ago I had two slices of oatmeal bread which really was fine if i stopped there ... but noooooooooo it tasted so good so I had another 2... now this bread is pepperidge farm so it's low cal. Well my stomach gave me hell and the guilt was horrendous. Over bread? C'mon now ... really?

Well, this morning I weighed in knowing I prolly gained a lb. and I have to tell you 2 weeks and 1 day into this program ( nutri system ) which costs about $ 60 a week not including the cost of dairy, fruit, veggies, protein I 've lost 10 whole lbs. So even though I had that bread I stopped after that and resumed my plan.

I'm doing the happy dance over here .... come join me . Remember the trick is never let yourself get hungry . Every 2-3 hrs. have a snack between meals fruit and dairy even if you're not hungry an apple, grapes, and 6-8 oz. of skim milk does the trick . Good luck ...

I'm feeling much better about my ability to "let go" of my weight number. My cardio challenge is still going strong......15 in a row and 18 out of 19 days in the books. I'm halfway there!

Yes, that is one thing I enjoy since I no longer eat sugar or artificial sweetners (I only use agave nectar), the lack of sugar cravings. I used to have the hardest time after lunch at work not heading up the steps to the vending machine for a reese cup. I realized last week or so that I just simply had no craving for sugar anymore.

I still miss meat, though. Especially red meat!

Oh and cheese.

And white flour.

And....

BUT, I don't miss sugar!

Can you (well, I know you can, but would you mind) talking about why and how you gave up cheese? That's something I'd like to do.

Hi, nycfembbw!

I now eat vegan (except for fish), as I believe that it decreases my chance of having a cancer recurrence.

Subsequently, I have given up all diary. Milk protein is 80 percent caesin, which accelerates the growth of tumors and metastatis (the other 20 percent is whey, which helps inhibit cancer).

All people have cancer cells, but it stands to reason that I could/would have more cancer cells floating around in my body. I don't want to increase the growth of those malignant cells.

I use almond milk in my cereal and it is surprisingly really good!

To answer the other question, how I did it (stopped eating cheese) was to just stop eating it. It sucks. I can't stand the taste of soy cheese or any of the other "fake cheese", as I call it, so I just do without.

Why do you want to cut out cheese..the calories?

ETA: I am allowed to have 2 eggs per week as long as they are infused with Omega 3 (just saying since I mentioned the vegan thing)

Cheese, sweets, butter and bread- just cold turkey. As many here already know about me and sweets, the same proved to be true for the rest.

Just said enough is enough (plus my cholesterol jumped 30 points).

As with sweets, the first week to 10 days are the hardest. I obsess about them. The craving is like what I imagine the jonesing for dope is to an addict newly in recovery.

After the days pass, I stop caring about eating any of it. I did unconsciously pick up a loaf of bread @ the store yesterday. Did not even "see" it in my cart till the checkout line!

Asked the cashier to please take it from me as I was allergic to it. Now I could have kidded myself but then I would have had to buy butter and on and on-back on the merry-go-round I would have been.

I gave up cheese cold turkey too. I just stopped using it. The only dairy I would have a problem giving up would be 0% greek yogurt and frozen yogurt.

Many of my friends are vegan and raw, and I have wanted to do the same thing.. I guess I just get stuck on starting and the transition. I need to talk to them and do some more research!
