Well, after some soulsearching, I've decided that in addition to WW, I am also gonna check out Overeaters Anonymous. http://www.oa.org

While my determination is strong... I still feel like sometimes I'm losing a fighting battle. Yes, the weight is coming off slowly but surely, but I need to understand better WHY I allowed myself to get to this point and how I need to fix the issues around my overeating. Yeah, it's easy to say that YES, I like to eat. But, I also know I eat for lots of other reasons, too.

So, I found that the local OA meets, within 10 miles of my house, every Wednesday. So, I'm thinking about checking it out tonight.

i go to OA Tonya, and its been hard to accept that i've needed it, but i'm finally feeling like i'm getting somewhere with it.. my suggestion to you is, dont give up after the first meeting, give it a few chances.. the very first meeting i dwelled on the spiritual part of it not being for me and the people hugging me constantly.. but, you will get what 'you' need from the meetings once you are open to that.. Maybe you will be straight away, unlike me who is stubborn! (heh)

Also, because i only have meetings i can attend on monday nights and saturday mornings, there are meetings online which are extremely helpful too, and i attend one of those everyday...You will develop your own sense of what you need and want to commit to , but if you do decide this is the route you need, it's a very great sense of community.. i'm only starting to feel that community, myself.

Thank y'all for such encouraging words.

You know, I've gone back & forth wondering if OA might be another step along this journey for me. WW has been great and I'm very thankful for the tools that I've been learning. The program works.... we've seen so many success stories. Yes, WW has made me more mindful of every single thing I put in my mouth and helped me focus more as food for fuel kinda mentality. I am thankful for being able to learn those tools and look forward to pushing past this mental barrier I have going right now.

Problem is, I've caught myself a couple times in the last month or so, in full binge mode. All the food & activity tracking didn't help me for squat when I got in that destructive mindset. While hiding in the kitchen, shoving raw cookie dough in my mouth, I question WHY am I sabatoging myself?!

I'm hoping that if I can just scratch below the surface to see how/why I relate to food, the better my chances for continued success will be. I want to learn tools to stop myself before I see self destructive behaviors pop up... how to recognize it, and put myself in check.

Thank y'all again for being the best group of supportive, encouraging friends I could have ever asked for!

Hi All,

Well, I am no longer going to be part of this thread until I get my act together.

I haven't been doing well for a few months now. I've been wicked bad...

I'll spare you the details of what I've been consuming for food, and to be honest my tastebuds have been beyond happy....My gut on the otherhand has not.

I'm proud of all you peeps for doing well and if not doing so well, for getting back on the wagon and trying again...

I'll be back in a month or so but wanted to say a quick hello and give you some status on myself.

Scorp - I understand you gotta do what you gotta do but you know you don't have to leave the thread my friend We're here for you! I've been doing bad since September but I also know that every day is another chance to get it right, I know you can do it... just know that we're here for you and we all struggle. Sometimes I think we need each other more when we're struggling than we do when we're just sailing along and getting results.

Seriously, when I'm struggling is when I honestly think I need y'all the most. It's easy to stay motivated when the scales are showing good numbers but when you hit that lull or have a binge day, is when you really need that little whisper of encouragement to help put you back on track.
