Bit: I dunno if I ever told you, but I learned to make biscuits trying to find a good recipe to send you buttermilk biscuits. By the time I finally found one, you had a girlfriend, lol....

I know this isn't exactly high cuisine, but sometimes I miss carne asada fries. guilty pleasure.

So yes the two cuisines have some things in common yet they have varying styles and expressions. The Cuban food that you will find in south Florida will be very different than what you will eat if you were to visit Cuba.
