Oh, I understand that. I've always been a very vivid dreamer. Colors, smells, tastes, textures, and surround sound. I have intense dreams pretty much every night.

I was spending the night at my grandparents house, right after my grandma passed away. I was lying in her bed and early in the morning, someone smacked my leg. I jumped up and got out of bed. I could hear my grandpa snoring in his room and there was a horrible smell in her room. Until the day my grandpa passed away, I never stepped a foot into that house.

#2 of creepy things: Right after my grandma passed away, I was giving her Bible. One night I woke up to my bedroom door opening and closing on its own. I put a shoe in the doorway and stayed awake. The following morning, u gave the Bible back to my dad and fifteen years later, I have the Bible back in my house and nothing odd has happened.

I'm like, Pajama; I do believe in the after life.

I process a lot of my interactions through senses anyway but my energy seems to heighten even further in dreams. While they are usually not creepy, I find it very disturbing for instance, to have a bad dream and get the smell of "death" This is why I can't watch horror movies. All of the sounds, smells and textures just become so vivid.

I haven't had any ghost like encounters for a long time but getting up while it's still dark out, often I think I am hearing children laughing in a playground while I do my paper route. I am trying not to freak myself out but I have a feeling those sounds aren't my imagination and they certainly aren't coming from a 5 yr old out before 7 am.

You might be a sensitive and not be aware of it. It sounds like you're catching "glimpses" from the afterlife without being actually haunted.

It just brings back a lot of creepy memories from my childhood.

One time when I was only a kid, downstairs in my living room on a rainy saturday or sunday afternoon. I was alone. I was looking out the window when out of the corner of my eye I saw the shadow of a tall man walking around the house. I went outside and saw that the shadow was by the barn.

I figured that it would be my father or uncle who had returned and were working outside but when I got closer I realized nobody was there.

I only had a few encounters with the paranormal and for a long time nobody wuold believe me whenever I shared my stories. I just stopped telling them after they went away.

I guess I am really scared to have things start happening again. I like watching ghost hunters and stuff but I don't want to freak myself out and trip myself up only *thinking* I am encountering it again. Does that make sense?

I do understand that. Maybe you're just unconsciously opening yourself up to it again in a way. You're always in control though, remember that.

I actually just remembered this. Your story brought it back. I was walking on a trail once and saw a man ahead of me. I could only see the back of him but I remember he was big and wearing a red and white plaid shirt. I felt compelled to follow him and went all the way to the end. This trail is paved and ends at a dead end. There was no place this man could have gone but when I reached the end, he wasn't there. Weird.

Thank you so much for sharing that. It makes me feel so much better to know that first of all, I am not alone and secondly, that there is comfort in sharing stories and feeling in control of these situations. It's still a bit creepy, though.

I have opened myself up a lot lately. I seem to be able to read what some people are thinking about, or how they are feeling. I have had a few people (who I don't know other then to randomly chat now and then with them on here) say to me that I need to get out of their heads, in a joking way. It is shocking to me because I never really had that happen before.

Alright, I thought of another one:

In 2002, my then-partner and I went to see a Tori Amos concert. We were in our seats waiting for the show to start when this rather beautiful biological man with long dark hair, dark eyes, and a trench coat came down the aisle, walking in a way that it seemed he was floating. He stopped near us and stared intently at the stage. I must have gotten caught up in his aura or something because I looked at him and heard myself say, "You're looking for the red-headed girl."

He turned toward me and kind of smiled and said he was. He looked around a bit and I believe we may have spoken for a minute or two. He had a very unusual, 'otherwordly' quality about him. My then-partner said something and I turned to her. When I looked back, the man had vanished. I mean just disappeared and I couldn't have looked away for more than a second.

We talked about him for a minute or two and tried to locate him but couldn't. The show started and we forgot all about him.

Here's where it gets weird:

We both went to bed that night and had the exact same dream about him. (No, not like that. lol!) We were at a type of tea party a-la "Alice in Wonderland" and he was there. It was more involved than that but when we woke up, we realized we'd both dreamed the exact same thing.

When I do tell this story, I say it's the one time I may have met a vampire (though I don't actually believe in them). He looked like he'd just walked off the set of "Interview - With the Vampire". This was before it was cool for vampires to sparkle.
